Registration Now Open! Golf Fore GiGi’s Playhouse Rochester Down Syndrome Achievement Center 3rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament

Event Takes Place on Saturday, August 17th at Mill Creek Golf Club in Churchville

GiGi's Playhouse Rochester, an achievement center that serves 300 families of all ages in the Rochester region with Down syndrome, will host its 3rd annual fundraiser golf tournament on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Mill Creek Golf Club, 128 Cedars Ave., Churchville. This is GiGi's Playhouse Rochester's second largest public fundraiser of the year, the first being their Gala that takes place in March. Tickets are available now, registration is limited.

"This event is not only a key part of our mission to spread the word about people with Down syndrome but to have the ability to offer life-changing programming to those who can benefit in the Rochester region," said Kim Guerrieri, vice president of GiGi's Playhouse Rochester. "Being on the greens and having fun to raise money for such a rewarding cause is truly invaluable. We may be in competition at the tee but we're all aiming to change the way our world sees Down syndrome one golf stroke at a time."

Registration:

  • Individual tournament ticket: $200 – Includes 18 holes of golf, breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, plus many fun activities on the course throughout the day.

  • Dinner ticket only: $75 – Includes 19th hole luau pig roast dinner, open bar, award ceremony, music and dancing.

  • 10:45 a.m. Shotgun Start

  • 3 p.m. Cocktail Hour

  • 5:30 p.m. Helicopter Golf Ball Drop

  • 5:45 p.m. 19th Hole Luau Dinner and Award Ceremony

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately one in every 700 babies in the U.S. is born with Down syndrome, making it the most common chromosomal condition. About 6,000 babies with Down syndrome are born in the United States each year. It is estimated that there are 900 people in the Rochester region with Down syndrome.

GiGi’s Playhouse Rochester is a non-profit organization that serves people with Down syndrome from prenatal diagnosis to adulthood focusing on achievement, belief and confidence. Open since April, 2017, it is part of GiGi's Playhousenetwork of 46 Down Syndrome Achievement Centers across the United States and Mexico, the only network of its kind that provides free, life changing therapeutic, educational and career training programs for 30,000+ individuals of all ages.

Through free programs and the Generation G Campaign for global acceptance, GiGi’s helps maximize opportunities for daily achievement and lasting acceptance.
