The City of Rochester's Roc Women's Fest, presented by MVP Health Care, is returning for its third year on August 17 and will feature free fitness classes, beauty services, kid-friendly activities, shopping, food and drinks, all from local female business owners!
The Roc Women’s Fest will be held on Saturday, August 17 from noon to 5 p.m. at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park in downtown Rochester, 353 Court St., rain or shine.
“Rochester women have always been ahead of their time,” said City of Rochester Mayor Lovely A. Warren. “Our community has been directly impacted by the strength and intelligence of women suffragists and abolitionists like Anna Murray Douglass, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Harriet Tubman, and of course, Susan B. Anthony. Today, in the 21st century, Rochester women continue to make their mark and leave a powerful legacy for future generations. Their ingenuity and creativity make Rochester a better place to live, work, and raise a family. I’m proud that we can highlight our amazing local female entrepreneurs at the Roc Women’s Fest.”
“The 2019 Roc Women's Fest is a shining example of the strong impact that women and women owned businesses have on the City of Rochester,” said MVP’s Senior Leader for Enterprise Marketing & Communications, Ted Herman. “MVP Health Care is so proud to be a part of this exciting annual celebration, which highlights the importance of creating a healthy community through exercise and a healthy lifestyle. We look forward to seeing you there!”
The Beauty Tent, sponsored by Need Salon and Spa, will include stylists from ROC Braid Bar offering their signature braids, body glitter, hair glitter, eyebrow mapping, facial acupressure, aromatherapy, hand massages and DIY nail polishing. Donations for services are welcome but not required. All donations will benefit the Willow Domestic Violence Center of Greater Rochester.
The YMCA of Greater Rochester Family Zone will keep kids busy with STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) activities, chalking, face painting, crafts, and giveaways.
