First Locally Owned Pediatric Urgent Care Center Dedicated Exclusively to Kids Opens in Webster

Public Invited to Grand Opening Celebration September 7th to 15th

AcuteKids Pediatric Urgent Care, the first locally owned urgent care center dedicated exclusively for kids, is now open for urgent medical needs from a fever to a fall.

AcuteKids is located at 1243 Bay Road in Webster and is open Monday through Friday from 12 noon to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. No appointment is needed.

A grand opening celebration will be held from Saturday, September 7 through Sunday, September 15. Normal business hours will be held during the grand opening.

Chrysa Charno, founder and CEO of AcuteKids said, "As providers, healers, athletes, and parents, we realized that there was a need for an urgent care specifically for kids with expert staff and comfortable exam rooms designed with kids in mind."

"After months of preparation, we have gathered a team of pediatricians and advanced practice providers (PAs/NPs) who have extensive experience with kids and urgent medical needs. Our goal will always be to provide the most up to date pediatric care in Rochester and to care for the children we see as if they are our own all while being in a fun environment making them feel at ease."

"AcuteKids Pediatric Urgent Care is more cost effective and kid-friendly than a hospital's emergency department and the next best option in the case when pediatricians' offices are closed or unavailable."

Charno, who is an emergency medicine and urgent care Physician Assistant (PA), has 15 years of experience working in urgent care centers, as well as orthopedics, plastic surgery, and dermatology. She graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) with a bachelor of science/master of science degree and was the first PA to earn a Master's in Business Administration from the school. She also is the first Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) to be granted fellowship from the College of Urgent Care Medicine's Urgent Care Association, and the first PA to hold a position on the College's board of directors.
